on 18th august 20014 a popup saying "an update is ........ press yes to update" appeared.

ABP does not send you a popup when it needs to update, and ABP updates do not require rebooting the computer.
There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.
