not blocking anything/whats with the filters?

Post by gbux »

so i installed the app on my rooted galaxy nexus 4.2, and I visited a few sites that i knew 100% had ads on them, and theyre still there. Do in need to do somethin g with rom toolbox pro? does it have something to do with the filter subscription? on that note, what is a filter subscription?

The whole reason I rooted my device was to use this app, hoping to get it going :)

Hi, I realize this is not my thread, but I'm having similar issues.
I'm on a Sprint Galaxy S4 - rooted (stock ROM). Installed ABP and gave superuser permissions.

ABP enabled, updated list, rebooted last night.

But ads still show up in Chrome on Android - some examples:

I noticed that the ABP icon is not showing up - not sure if it is related.

Same thing with apps like speedtest, angry birds etc - ads continue to show up.

I think the icon should be there.

Try uninstalling it, rebooting your device and re-installing ABP.

I uninstalled it, rebooted, reinstalled, and the icon now shows up.
But I'm getting the same ads on those sites (and the speedtest app)... do I need to add proxy? (since it is rooted, I thought that wasn't needed)

What does it say if you pull down the notification bar?

Could you check if Superuser permissions are really granted in the app?

Weird. What if you reboot your device now (and start ABP in case it doesn't automatically)? Does it change anything?

It does start automatically now (icon shows up in notification bar) - but no difference in behavior for those sites :(

Then I have no idea unfortunately. :(

I guess a developer needs to take a closer look at it.

Thank you for your help and patience so far though :)

I'll create a 'new' issue on the bug report forum.
