What do you mean by not working? Not blocking ads, or not connecting to the web at all?

I've got a rooted Galaxy Ace 2 (GT-I8160) running Android 4.1.2 and I've installed Adblock Plus. It works fine over Wifi but over 3G I can't connect to anywhere with the built-in "Internet" browser. The error looks like this:

Got the error: Server Error
while trying to obtain http://www.google.co.uk/
Connection refused

If I disable ABP's filtering then the browser works again - but of course adverts aren't blocked, which rather defeats the object!

UPDATE: I found the problem - I had set Background Data Restricted. (Settings - Data Usage - Menu button.) ABP for Android runs as a background process, proxying network requests. So it intercepted the browser's network requests but wasn't allowed to reissue them because that would have been "Background Data".
