Lollipop blocking solution (needs root)

Post by aqq123 »

Registered here to say thanks to Romracer for nailing the issue. I'm having the same problem now (on Android 5.0.2, CyanogenMod 12-20150201-NIGHTLY-mako, just for the record). I didn't use the posted workaround but instead did a:

Code: Select all

adb shell "cp /system/bin/iptables /data/data/org.adblockplus.android/files/"
This seems to have done the trick, although it still doesn't work because the latest release version (1.2.1) force-closes when trying to download the filter set, so I'm going to try the development build now.

It appears though that the patch was merged into the codebase on January 15, whereas the latest development build is 1.2.1.348 of January 13 so it doesn't incorporate the patch yet.

Update: tried the development version now and it seems to be working.
The complete fix in my case is posted in a separate thread
