I have downloaded the APK on my phone and when I click the file I receive a message "Unable to launch event." I am running a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with android version 4.4.4 and it is not rooted. I tried restarting the phone, disabling developer mode, I have turned off the verify apps option, and enabled the Unknown Sources option.
If anyone has any advice or has run into similar issues I would appreciate assistance.
The reason I decided to install ABP is because of the rise of ads that open the play store. Absolutely tired of it.

Same error on Nexus 7 w/ Android 5. Tried all of the above, also tried different builds - no luck.

This seems to be an issue with Chrome and Google Calendar. When downloading the .APK using e.g. Firefox, everything works fine.
The reason for this message is, that somehow Google Calendar wants to open .APK files and when trying to open the .APK it says that it can't launch the event (because it is not a valid event anyway).
Sadly we can not do anything about this.
