I'm on Android 5.0. I just installed Adblock Plus for the sole purpose of blocking these Taboola ads. They are way out of the ordinary and almost always consist of something sexually suggestive. I read an article that Taboola pays Adblock Plus to not be blocked... however, I was able to block them on Chrome with the Chrome plugin by adding the custom URL block on...
http://cdn.taboolasyndication.com
http://cdn.taboola.com
... but there is no option to block an ad by it's URL on the mobile Android version. Is this something I missed, or will it be implemented eventually?
These ads are horrible... the lowest of the low, and I'm surprised that Adblock Plus allows them.
How do we block Taboola on Android?
Re: How do we block Taboola on Android?
If "Allow some non-intrusive advertising" is ON you can disable it (taboola is in that category and also under review):
click the Adblock Plus icon in the notification bar at the top, then uncheck "Acceptable Ads / Allow some non-intrusive advertising."
The custom filters are not implemented yet, but someone found an workaround: read here

I'm in the same situation as the OP. Disabling acceptable adds doesn't have any effect.
