How to configure for Ethernet only

That might just be something disabled in the forum: I never get e-mail notifications for thread replies either, just for PMs.

I am posting a thread reply right now, and the "Options" tab at the bottom of the window includes a checkbox for "Notify me when a reply is posted".

If it doesn't actually do that when the box is checked, what is the point of having that option displayed
