Websites not working (https)

Post by anirudh »

Hello,
I've just installed Adblock Plus (Version 1.3 build# 359) on my device (LG G2 D800) running Android 4.4.2; I was asked to update my proxy to local host and port to 2020. Now when I go to any URL which uses "https", it shows "This webpage is not available". I've tried visiting facebook, twitter and even google search, none of them are working. Please help me out as soon as possible. The applications of facebook, twitter and google search aren't working.

ABP for android is a proxy, so it can't filter https / ssl connections.
So, for that apps using https connections you should add their servers to the bypass proxy list or ... use firefox and install ABP in firefox on android.

hmm...

i'm using ABP 1.3.359 on non-rooted S5 mini and have set manually the proxy for both WiFi and APN (3G) to localhost:2020 with empty proxy bypass list and all HTTPS websites (e.g. in Chrome) are working well ... altough it seems the ads are not filtered on https pages.

but why then i don't need to add anything to the bypass list?

well, you are right. Normally the https sites should be ignored (sure the ads are still there but should still work fine without any bypass list).
It was only a suggestion for the user above...
