chrome stops loading pages with a abp installed on lolipop

After installing abp and setting up the proxy. Chrome began to load pages slower. After a few pages the loading would stop at random times during the load. This is a Samsung s5 and upgraded to lolipop 2 days ago.
When I removed the proxy, ( none) chrome was able to quickly download pages.
