Why does Adblock Plus send so much data via Wifi

Hi,

I run Adblock Plus on a Sony Xperia z3 compact together with Firefox. Everything works well.

The only thing that makes me wonder is the enormous amount of data that AdblockPlus send via my Wifi. Almost 75% of my Wifi traffic is due to AdblockPlus.

Can someone explain me why this is the case and what it is good for. Can I reduce this?

Many thanks

Andreas

Could be this:

en/android-faq#traffic

Code: Select all

Why does Adblock Plus appear to consume so much traffic?

To filter ads, all traffic has to pass through Adblock Plus. Android considers this to be the traffic caused by the app, while it is in reality the sum of all traffic.
