proxy onnection failed error

I upgraded my Nexus 5 phone two marshmallow android 6.0 about two weeks ago. Starting three or four days after the upgrade, I have started getting error messages saying that either the proxy connection is failed or or that the proxy connections unable to contact server and to try again. The only way I can get it to start working again is to set proxy settings to back to none and save it, then go back to advance settings and change it back to localhost and port number 2020, then restart Adblock Plus. Any ideas how to keep this from happening?
