how to know on which port is ABP listening to

Post by niceman »

I have installed adblock plus on my sony xperia P device android 4.0.4 .

I have filtering toggled on and configured the proxy manually to localhost port 2020.

Yet when I go to alternativeto.net the ads still shows.

Now I think I have wrong configuration, I set proxy to nothing and tried again still no result.

this link android-config says "put the port you see on the notification message" , the notification message I see is "ads are being blocked on wi-fi" , no port here :3 .

So how to know what port is ABP listening to ? for the record the subscription I'm using is Liste AR + Liste FR + EasyList and I have toggled off acceptable ads(so to block all ads, this doesn't work either), also my device isn't rooted(and I prefer not to do it).

Hey niceman!

Thanks for reaching out to us.
What is your device and Android version?
Correct, the port number should be 2020.
Is that URL the only one you see ads still?

Hope to be able to support you with that.

All the best,

No, I have tried "ad blocking testing sites" and they clearly say "no ad blocker" (and ads show on them anyway).

Hey niceman !

I also saw some ads while running the test on that website. Unfortunately at the moment we don't have a developer dedicated to the ABP app.
I would recommend that you try Adblock Browser while surfing on the web. It has got many cool features and it should block the ads within it.
I appreciate your feedbak. Please don't hesitate to contact us again. :)
