On face value it would make more sense than a version for safari (higher user base).

Nope, watch this space: releases/
Nevertheless, all technology news website will talk about it when it comes out, so I'm sure you'll be warned in a way or another about it at that time.

A spammer called "ad-bomb.com" was advertising a paid service, and this post was a response; a similar service is available for free from FoolDNS: http://www.fooldns.com/fooldns-communit ... h-version/

Then again I haven't had a good experience with them, so I normally use the malicious-site blocking available in Comodo Secure DNS: http://www.comodo.com/secure-dns/
Other good services (which also don't block ads) include Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, no blocking whatsoever but high reliability) and Norton ConnectSafe (which can be configured to block most known pornographic and other objectionable sites, for free): https://dns.norton.com/dnsweb/homePage.do

There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.

Hi,

I support your reply, some people are clueless and many times ignorant to what effort is put into developing good software and especially for FREE.

I suggest those who cannot wait go and try an alternative PAY for piece of 'kit' or maybe try a different browser.

Many years ago I owned a licensed pub here in the UK, and, on St Patrick's day, I managed to coax a FREE barrel of Draught Guiness out of the brewery to give away to my regular customers. Now, anyone who knows anything about dispensing Draught Guinness knows it naturally creates a large 'frothy head' on top of the beer, and now here's the comparitive to the AdBlock Pus FREE software. Certain customers were complaining they were not getting a full pint of Guinness beer and asked me to top it up.

Yeh, right

I cannot post my exact reply to them here, however I made it quite clear they were getting the Draught Guinness for FREE so please go away.( Well nothing like that actually).

It amazed me that they still continued to protest. The cheek of some people never ceases to astoud me.

I thought I'd give it my own 2 cents worth.

Regards,

John in the UK

The problem is that the complaining deals mainly with timing. Since the team promised the plug-in for December 2012 and its now February 2013, it sets a bad record about the reliability of their promises. It is not rocket science, IE10 has been out for almost a year and IE9 for over three years, those are the versions that should be supported as they are the most modern versions of IE.

For the info I use Chrome with adblock plus but since I have a touchscreen laptop I want to use the pinch to zoom feature which Google does not have while IE does, but I won't use IE without adblock plus since the TPL lists do not have the same blocking features.

So, what's the hold up now? More development problems? I think the reality is pretty clear: You could easily make a true version for IE but choose rather to "syphon" customers into instead using Firefox, whether that's because of kickbacks, or for charity, or perhaps bias against Microsoft, we will probably never know. Its sad that in the pursuit of a cleaner internet experience, you are in a sense, advertising for Firefox. How is that for irony?

Wow. Do you also think man never went to the moon and that Kennedy is still alive?
Seriously, one thing that is for sure with IT projects is that they are always late. A few months of delay for projects of similar size is actually everything but abnormal.

I know it's hard for some people in need to wait, but please don't turn your impatience into rage and paranoia. I don't see why ABP devs should owe you something.
