With ABP enabled, a message board I look at regularly (
Code: Select all
http://www.boards2go.com/boards/board.cgi?&user=dharrison
) produces a dialog box which reads "Do you want to allow this website to open an app on your computer?" not just on loading the site, but on opening every single link. I have to click "cancel" before I can proceed and this is particularly annoying as only the message headers are displayed, which means opening a lot of links to read the postings. I can only avoid this by disabling ABP, but the site is infested with aggressive adverts, many of which are actually quite unpleasant to look at.
This is a problem with Boards2Go rather than the forum moderators, one of whom managed to tweak the site to cut out ads and received threats from Boards2Go that the forum account would be removed.
Is there a SIMPLE way to lose the dialog box? I've read that it can appear in non-APB related contexts, so perhaps there's a setting in IE11 that will do this (hopefully without compromising security)?
