Getting error message on webpages

Post by docwho3 »

I have been using Adblock plus for a very long time on IE 11.0.9600.18524 running win 7 home and had no problems other than websites wanting to require adblocker be disabled to view their content (which I won't do) but just recently I have sometimes been getting an error message that pops up on some webpages that says adblock plus has stopped working and giving me the choice of stopping the program or searching the web for a solution. It seems odd to me because adblock plus icon is still showing in the status bar and seems responsive. I am wondering if this is some tactic by ad sponsors to try to mess with either adblocker or to just mess with the user's mind for using adblock plus. (I also have firefox and chrome but I am an old geezer that likes to use IE for most surfing.)

Maybe you need some filters so just search for filters or report these sites at easylist forum https://forums.lanik.us/viewforum.php?f=62
some webpages that says adblock plus has stopped working
Example pages where ABP show you the error message ? Screenshot ?

As you can see in this example I was opening a link to a story about a truck that had an accident when the error message popped up and it has happened on other news stories as well but not to all of them . Just happens with a very few of them.
