I think the EasyList is too broad. Blacklist?

This is the place to discuss issues with the acceptable ads list like a website no longer complying with the criteria.

I think the EasyList is too broad. Blacklist?

Post by UKTone »

Is there a way to separate what it blocks? The pictures on the sides do not bother me, but the ads with sound do, especially when they are hard to find and at the bottom, and especially since I typically have lots of tabs open. EasyList blocks just about everything, no matter if they're annoying or not.

Text ads also do not bother me.

I want to make websites, make software, etc. to make some extra money some day, but the way AdBlock Plus currently is, I don't think that's too probable anymore. I know people can whitelist some websites, but many aren't and/or won't know how to.

Also, could a Blacklist be made?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Acceptable Ads does exactly that: It allows non-intrusive ads such as text ads while still blocking annoying ones like those playing sounds. The feature is enabled by default in Adblock Plus (you can enable/disable it on the options page) and any website can apply to be added to the Acceptable Ads list.
