wp.pl acceptable ads - are you joking?

Post by mele »

Hello,

I just browse the site http://wp.pl and got tons of advertisements from pops to full site skins. I noticed that the acceptable ads checkbox is checked and wp.pl is on whitelist there.
I removed the check on the non-intrusive ads (which they are totally are) and the ads are still showing up.

I had to manually change the filter list and remove any Ajax request from both wp.pl and genius.pl
I don't know how much money this site is paying you but for god sake remove them permanently from the non-intrusive list!

filters:
wp.pl*$xmlhttprequest
gemius.pl*$xmlhttprequest
gemius.pl*

if you unchecked "allow some non intrusive advertising" and you still have the same ads that means it's not that special list which whitelists them.

for example I added this filter (keeping the acceptable ads) to remove some annoying ads (and popup)
||tzuwrljqdw.wp.pl^

The filter I gave above not really working.
The filter you gave is working partially. They change the subdomain from time to time.

The problem is that you whitelist them while they are keeping to intrusive us all.

Not all wp.pl ads are whitelisted. If you find an intrusive ad on that list just report it. But as you said: you disabled the acceptable ads and the intrusive ads are still on page.

this fix the ads problem:

gemius.pl*
gemius.pl*$xmlhttprequest
wp.pl##div[style="background-image:url(*)"]
wp.pl*$xmlhttprequest
wp.pl##object[data^="*"]
wp.pl##object[data~="*"]
wp.pl##div[style~="background-image:"]
wp.pl##div[style*="background-image:"]
@@wp.pl##img[src*="*.jpg"]
wp.pl##img[src*="*"]
wp.pl##param
wp.pl##a[id]

Some of the filter...

you have some wrong filters
@@wp.pl##img[src*="*.jpg"]
wp.pl##img[src*="*"]

and other

you can't use wildcars in the hiding filters
en/filters#elemhide

I mean src* is ok, but the value part isnt "*"

Listen, I just check the site with other adblock extensions and ABP is the only one who show those ads even if I disabled the acceptable list.

You have some bug in the software or you playing with the users around.

if you are using the same lists + custom filters the result will be the same.

Provide the unblocked ads by ABP and blocked by whatever other addon, browser version, addons versions, filter lists.

You don't need me to feedback with unblocked ads.
Go to http://www.wp.pl with your ABP version (but first remove "Allow some non-intrusive advertising") -> you will see tons of ads.
Turn OFF APB and turn ON adblock -> no ads in the page.

I'm using no custom filters right now with EasyList for both extensions.
