Sometimes the sites are abusing of some acceptable ads.

Are you sure historyfanatic is part of the acceptable ads program ?
However it's not only taboola crap on site but also the annoyance blocked by the "bounce" filter

I do see a popup titled "POPULAR ARTICLES" appear when I go to an article on that site. Two important things to note here:

1. The popup doesn't appear to have been created by Taboola but by the WordPress plugin wBounce.

2. The Taboola stuff that's shown inside the popup is not sponsored content. It's regular content from the same website.

So while I personally agree that this is a terrible user experience, it is not related to Acceptable Ads. Therefore your best bet would be to let the website owner know what you think about this popup and hope that they fix it.

I am using adblocker myself because there are just many sites that have annoying popus and banners.
I am a bit conflicted because I myself have blogs and review sites that rely on ads to generate income for me.
I have nothing against adblockers but would it be possible for the little guys like me to generate income if we don't use annoying ads like those for example in porn sites?
I don't want to use an anti-adblocker on my review site for my project General Hardware & Home Supply

Code: Select all

jenreviews . com / best-toilet /
because users like us who use adblockers would be turned off, thus it would drive potential customers or just visitors away.
I can see both sides of the fence, hence i can agree with Acceptable Ads option if only those on that list would not abuse their being on the list by installing annoying ads later on.

yes. that's right.
some are indeed abusing their being included in the acceptable ads list.
people get annoyed that they would just disable acceptable ads option. :(
