Safari extension allows more ads vs Chrome

Post by yaddam205 »

I have noticed AB is missing about 1/3rd of advertisements. Most network TV sites show ads when I'm watching an episode. I can watch the same episode Ad free on Chrome. I have updated both easylist and AB list. Is there a reason for this? I would like to stick with Safari due to battery life.

Thanks.

I just found this over at AdBlock. It seems to be a known issue with Safari. I'm sure it applies to ABP as well.

Cheers.

Adblock Plus for Safari is based on Adblock Plus for Chrome and Opera, but has a few limitations, mostly due to limitations of Safari:
Popups can't be blocked.
XMLHttpRequests can't be blocked.
Requests initiated by third-party plugins like Flash can't be blocked. This mostly affects in-video ads (like prerolls), however not those on YouTube, which are blocked in a different way.
