When I try to block this site the adds for Apps Store, Google, Android and Windows inside the
map at the bottom of this page, http://www.rain-alarm.com I only have limited success.
It works fine by selecting them and clicking Block but
only as long as nothing changes.
As soon as an element of the web page changes i.e. slightly different window
size or moving elements , the annoying black boxes are back !
Is there a filter I could use to be rid of these adds no matter what size of web page I open ?
I'm unable to block this site ...
Re: I'm unable to block this site ...
What do you want to block ? It's no clear
provide all the steps: direct link / page, where are the ads, etc
what is http://www.rain-alarm.com/
the page where you get ads (which ones?) or the ad you get on some other page ?

Re: I'm unable to block this site ...
My apologies, I mistakenly thought I was being clear in my original description.
http://www.rain-alarm.com is a configurable site giving up to date
radar data in the form of a google map which you can either run as a sequence over a specific amount of time
or for just a fixed moment.
On first visit you have to click thru a few things like accepting cookies, giving location etc. but once you do these
3 or 4 easy steps you get an excellent radar map set inside a web page. If Adblock plus is on you will see on the right side of the page a notice saying they see you are blocking adds. etc etc . That works fine.
And at the bottom of the radar map on the map itself are 3 social media buttons which I can easily remove BUT
the problem I have is with the four black rectangles inside the radar map at the bottom of the page. They are add links for "Browser Extensions & Desktop Apps" , "App Store" "Google Play " and "Windows Phone" .
If I use the 'Block Element' tool in AdBlockplus I can make them disappear but if I resize the window or move to a different size map the 4 black rectangles come back .
If you can tell me of a way to get rid of them no matter what size the web page windows are I would appreciate it.

Re: I'm unable to block this site ...
right, the blocking filters fail (I have tested in firefox)
now, I tested on an old safari (version 5.1.7 in windows) and this 1 seems to work:
Could you tell me what safari version, op.system version are you using ?

Re: I'm unable to block this site ...
MacBook Air computer is using OS 10.10.5 with Safari 9 ( soon upgrading to 10.11.1 )
Old MacMini has been Beta testing, so is using OS 10.11.1 (Beta15822c) with Safari 9,0.1( 11601.2.5)
I've been trying your suggestions on both and unfortunately rain-alarm.com##div[style^="margin-top: 0px;"]
doesn't seem to work either.
Sorry if I'm driving you nuts with this but I have bought the no adds IOS rain alarm and even wrote the developer
explaining why it sucks to have those irrelevant 4 black rectangle adds intruding on the Safari page and he pretty much told me to take a hike !
Much appreciate your efforts.
