Is Adblock Plus Safe to Use?

Hello everyone,
sorry if this has been asked,I searched forum and didn't find anything. I wonder is it safe using Adblock Plus? Does is monitor when you right passwords to access mails or recorded passwords for you accounts like Paypal. any dev. checked source of Adblock Plus to see it has security risk?
