Adblock not working on youtube at all

I am having the same problem. ABP not working on YouTube in Safari.

I tried using Safari Experimental adblock but it makes my browser sluggish and really slow.

Just here to confirm that adblock is not working on youtube.

Specs
el capitan 10.11.5
safari version 9.1.1
Installed the latest version 1.12
Using the HTML 5 player

Reproduce
- Clear your cache.
- Visit youtube.com
- Select a recommended video from you language. For example we are dutch and selected this video. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avd7LXoE-4c)
- Screenshot with web inspector attached to this response.
- Ads URL that is being played https://media.rtl.nl/web/components/ser ... 1.20160707

After i found out i was using version 1.12 and not 1.12.1 this problem was solved by installing that version. https://safari-extensions.apple.com/det ... GRYYZR985A is still version 1.12 and not 1.12.1 !

well, ABP just works fine in chrome / firefox, no video ad. Safari just has a limited API (apple's fault) so it's much difficult to find a right way to block the ads, but the last version should work (as the devs say)

Explain why the Adblock extension can do it, and Adblock Plus can't.

You could eventually write: "can you please explain ..."
