Adblock not working on youtube at all

I downloaded Adblock a while ago and somehow it isn't working on Youtube recently, long ADs such as Netflix 30 sec Ads play before the vids almost every other time I click on a vid! I uninstalled and installed it again, trying to have to most updated version, still not working...

be sure you are using adblock plus.
in the last release it was fixed an issue with YT.

Safari-only changes

Fixed a regression, introduced with the previous release, that stopped adverts from being blocked on YouTube when using older versions of Safari that still relied on the Flash player (issue 4141).

I got your reply on my post mapx. I wasn't able to reply to your post since you locked the topic but I did have a problem when installing the latest version of ABP. Safari gives me an error saying it can't install the extension. What should I do?

I checked my Adblock Plus version, it is the same as you posted. Unfortunately, it doesn't work..

As of July 2 I have installed Adblock plus twice as per guidance, verified that it was installed and restarted my browser a few times.

YouTube is still showing ads, which is the primary reason I got Adblock in the first place.

OSX El Capitan Version 10.11.5
Safari Version 9.1.1 (11601.6.17)

Hey mapx, I tried the experimental blocker but it's not working. How do you create a report on the bug list? (UPDATE: Refreshing the page on YT videos no longer blocks ads either, but it did before.

Hey mapx, I wanted to let you know that I uninstalled my current version of ABP and reinstalled with the new version. I have to see if there are bugs in it. I think Google strengthened their adblock bypasser to show us unskipabble ads.

well, ABP just works fine in chrome / firefox, no video ad. Safari just has a limited API (apple's fault) so it's much difficult to find a right way to block the ads, but the last version should work (as the devs say)
