can't install new Adblock on OS/X 10.11

Postby stevej » Wed Sep 19, 2018 3:55 am

Versions:
Adblock 1.12.5
Safari 11.1.2 (11605.3.8.1)
OS/X 10.11.6

I went to the App Store and tried to install the new version of ADB.
It requires 10.12

I've 2009 hardware, Apple aren't supporting higher than 10.11 on it.

Would you please add text to that effect to your Alert page.

Would you please give me the option to disable the Alert, not be forced to read it every time I start Safari

I too am getting this annoying pop-up every time I open Safari. Please don't have it open on Safari 11, as it is not relevant and we can't update Adblock Plus.

Add one more that doesn't want to see the upgrade page popping up every time I open Safari 11.1.2 under OS 10.11.6. Like the others, I can't upgrade the OS on my MacPro 2008, and if Safari 12 is out, I must not be able to upgrade it either, since it doesn't show up in Updates in the App Store.

Hello Guys!

We apologize for the annoyance! Safari made some changes to how extensions will work on their browser, requiring us and all other legacy extensions to update. For those who unfortunately cannot update at this time due to their OS version, please disable ABP in Safari's preferences to resolve the recurring tab issue. Feel free to contact us if you have additional questions!

Thanks
Shannon

Your advice is to turn-off ABP entirely?

That's really NOT what I want to do or hear.

Can you add a 'check for OS/X version' in your current code and not throw up the update prompt.
