Why does an Icon require these invasive permissions, it seems way above it's station, please explain the reasons why such permissions exist on an icon and why it see's this info.



Does the new Adblock Plus App also have these permissions?

The latest version has two separate extensions. One enables ad blocking and the other is an optional toolbar icon with elevated permissions. The elevated permissions are needed to read the URL of a current webpage for tasks like whitelisting. We assure you we do not store or collect any credit card or password data. We do understand the permissions request can be concerning. Please be advised you do have the option to turn off the toolbar icon, in the main app's preferences.
