I can't block a JS script

Postby scrutinizer1 » Sun Sep 01, 2019 5:45 pm

I'm using ABP 1.12.5 in Safari 5.1.7 on one of my older machines and sometimes use this browser for specific purposes. Whenever I open the news digest page at https://www.svoboda.org/a/30139216.html it loads at a crawling speed. Turning on a debugging mode and enabling breakpoints in Web-Inspector I discovered that a script named «base.js» is the cause of the slowdown which occurs precisely at the line 218 of the script so I decided to block either all subsequent lines or the entire script. I then opened Activity window and, I presume, I found the link containing «base.js» in its URL scheme. The link is https://www.youtube.com/yts/jsbin/player_ias-vflt4leIo/en_US/base.js

I tried every of the following variants to block this resource but still see it loading in Activity Monitor:

https://www.youtube.com/yts/jsbin/playe ... ase.js:218
https://www.youtube.com/yts/jsbin/playe ... US/base.js

Any ideas on how to prevent this link (or the script line in question) to load?
