Adblock Plus

Before I updated my AdBlock in Safari, ads AND THE SPACE THEY APPEARED IN would disappear. After I updated, there are big gray bars where the ads would be. How do I make them go away? Or, how do I go back to the old AdBlock that made them disappear? Thanks.
