how to block facebook popup notifications?

does anyone know how to block facebook popup notifications in the bottom left hand corner? They cover the screen while you are typing and are so irritating and time consuming. Please help!

Steps :
1. Go to your notifications settings.
2. Next to App requests and activity, click Edit.
3. Click to uncheck any apps or games that you don't want to be notified about and then click Close.
