Yavli ads (promoted content from the web)
Re: Yavli filters
Oh, bloody hell. Turns out that "cryptic class name" is actually meaningful: they borrowed it from Google. The rule I mentioned above makes the Google search bar disappear!
~google.com##DIV.gbqfwa does work, but I'm going to see if I can't come up with something more specific.
And yes, I've updated EasyList. I think the Yavli folks are using a separate domain for every single one of their clients, though; blocking them all one by one isn't going to end well.

Re: Yavli filters
it seems all the domains share the same IP: 206.190.151.63
so, if you are using an utility like peerblock you could block that IP
download from:
http://filehippo.com/download_peerblock
You can use it without the default list (p2p blocking list) and create your own list for that ip (206.190.151.63)
Be sure to block also the http requests (in this case will be blocked 206.190.151.63)

Re: Yavli filters
We've now got rules in easylist that should take care of all Yavli domains.
Re: Yavli filters
If theres is any Yavli issues, force an update of the subscriptions first. Else report website here.
Re: Yavli filters

Re: Yavli filters
Yavli adverts have returned to The Daily Caller and Valuewalk (the two sites I began the thread with).
http://dailycaller.com/2014/11/20/what- ... ck-n-roll/ hosts the ads at http://compoter.net/
http://www.valuewalk.com/2013/03/google ... lay-store/ hosts the ads at http://contentolyze.net/
Note that Yavli's Publisher Terms of Service explicitly takes ownership of "ad-blocked inventory" which is defined as "Inventory to which Ads cannot typically be served as a result of the end user of a Publisher Property having deployed advertising blocking technology, including without limitation the web browser extensions commonly known as AdBlock and AdBlock Plus." - http://yavli.com/publishers-terms-conditions.html

Re: Yavli filters
Two Yavli/HeroFW-related ad links here: http://www.realfarmacy.com/burzynski-ca ... ased-feds/
Domains are selectr.net and uppo.co, both 206.190.151.63. Forcing an update of the filter didn't make a difference.
The reverse IP lookup at yougetsignal lists two more domains there (shame, I'd have expected it to pick up more): jellr.net and lunio.net.
What's the quickest way of getting these into the public filters, reporting on this forum, "Report issue on this page..." or both? Just so I know what to do next time I come across these get-rich-quick ads
EDIT: I've just seen how (I think) the Yavli filter works, targeting the website displaying the ads and not the Yavli domain hosting them - nice
