Yavli ads (promoted content from the web)

Yavli.com are the worst advertisements on the web. They're similar to Outbrain and Taboola style "related links" at the bottom of articles, but worse. None of it is content, 100% ads, always irrelevant to the article. They're shilling get-rick-quick schemes, or diet pills, or penny auctions.

It's difficult blocking these ads, because each website running these ads seems to host the ads themselves on a custom domain name. When you access the domain name hosting the ads directly, you see the words, "Hi, I am your new HeroFW app!"

For example

http://dailycaller.com/2014/11/20/what- ... ck-n-roll/ hosts the ads at http://opner.co
http://www.valuewalk.com/2013/03/google ... lay-store/ hosts the ads at http://rlex.org

And here's a screenshot of the ads in question - http://imgur.com/NbXStQ5
Note how the testosterone supplement ad uses a totally unrelated image which is meant to pique your disgust and curiosity.

It'd be great if we could get some filters to work across all implementations of Yavli.

How are these sites able to get around the filter, and who is providing the service? theladbible.com and uniladmag.com also have this - the ads are the exact same on every site. I think the DailyMail also has it too...

YAVLI ads "Promoted Content From The Web" unblockable ads

Over the past few months, I've noticed a string of ads that I kept blocking, but that I would see again and have to re-block. After about three I noticed what their plan was for keeping their ads immune from ad blockers—they cycle through different domain names. This is what the ads usually look like:

http://i.imgur.com/08lS8VZ.png

The standard format for their URLs is usually something like this:

Code: Select all

http://lunio.net/wc/226/2639/2513/2513,1509,1545,2597.html
Now I don't know if /wc/ can be blocked in a filter or if it might disrupt other websites using that path segment. What I've been doing is blocking each domain. So far I have quite a few:

Code: Select all

||frevi.net/
||exlpor.com/
||discvr.net/
||q3sift.com/
||qzsccm.com/
||zomri.net/
||akamai.net/
||lunio.net/
||contentr.net/
||topdi.net/
||hobri.net/
A couple of these are still up, whereas others seem to no longer serve a purpose for them (maybe blacklisted). Do these exist in any current filters, and if not can we create a new filter to blacklist all of these?

I don't like CSS rules, but every instance of Yavli I've seen uses the same cryptic class name on the injected elements:
