YouTube Ads
YouTube Ads
Until recently, AB+ effectively blocked all youtube Ads... something has changed... most likely Google figuring a way around the block feature... Just wanted to be sure the Team at AB+ was aware of this change...
Re: YouTube Ads
example video ?

ABP version ?
filter lists ?
check if you have some custom filters for YT

Re: YouTube Ads
Noticed it today too.
Example link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tct7D84pocA
Screenshot of ads seen:
http://imgur.com/KYH9In3

Firefox 38.0.1
html5 or flash - Not sure. Recently, Youtube would display onscreen message like "your browser didn't understand any of the media formats, so using HTML5" but as of today, it just launched right into ads with no messages.
ABP 2.6.9.1-signed
Filter lists: EasyList, Warning Removal, Facebook Annoyances.
I have some custom filters for YT: ||youtube.com/ptracking?*, ||youtube.com/annotations_invideo?*, ||youtube-nocookie.com^, |https://s.youtube.com/*stats*

Re: YouTube Ads
Where are the ads ? I can see in your pics the movie's start
Re: YouTube Ads
Sorry, just realized what happened. The same movie but different upload, hence different starting pics (which I thought were ads). I will check out a few more clips to be sure, though.

Re: YouTube Ads
I've noticed recently that YouTube has changed the way the suggested channel and video ads display in search results at the top of the page for example when searching for trailer or fallout 4.
Re: YouTube Ads
i dont know if this helps with invideo ads or not...but once i did it i havent seen one since.
i use an addon called download flash and video
addons. mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/download-flash-and-video/
now... let me get to the point! when i am on youtube by clicking its button i customized i can see all the videos currently loaded and download them...
now why is this important? becauseit shows ALL flash and video content! it means even if it isnt a video if it is flash content i see it
i saw a specific address of something that wasnt being seen on my screen no matter where i went on the page via scrolling.
so i right clicked it and selected "copy url to clipboard"
it was something along the lines of
https:// yts (blahblah)iv3_module.swf
blahblah being that i later realized it was unimportant from the filter. the exact address had something in the middle that changed based on the video you
were watching (meaning it was page specific), but the beginning and the end of each "iv3_module.swf" file had this in it! so i clicked the abp button selected "open blockable items", then typed "iv3_module.swf" into the search filter, right clicked it and selected block, went to custom and deleted all but the "iv3_module.swf" and put a * in front of it like this:
*iv3_module.swf
then i selected to the right side where to make it domain specific and youtube.com was already in the box so i hit ok and kept going... SO FAR INVIDEO ADS ARE BLOCKED FOR ME! YAY!
tl;dr -
place a blocking filter for:
*iv3_module.swf
and make it youtube domain specific, i dont know if that works for embedded. if not then remove the domain specific and reapply...profit!
