Linkshrink Ads Needs Update

Post by Siaukia »

Its opening ads at original link and opening new valid link in new tab. The previous thread's solution on this doesn't work on it anymore.

Example

Code: Select all

in ABP for firefox, try switching from easylist to easylist without hiding filters and add

Code: Select all

Seems to be working when I added to custom filters.

Thank you.

I tried this. It did not work for me. My problem is that it puts the message "Please disable adblock" where is the countdown is, instead of opening a pop-under ad tab.

as I double-said ...did you try easylist without element hiding (and disable easylist) ?

It wasn't clear to me that "Easylist without element hiding" is the name of a new sub. After disabling Easylist and installing that sub, its working.

Thanks.

One doubt, though. How will lack of element hiding affect other ads/pages in general? Also, why did disabling that "^elemhide" rule in Easylist itself did not work?

well, try also this alternative:

keep easylist (disable easylist without hiding filters)
and disable manually these filters in easylist:

Code: Select all

##.pub_300x250
##.pub_300x250m
##.pub_728x90
##.text-ad
##.text-ad-links
##.text-ads
##.textAd
##.text_ad
##.text_ads

why ? sadly there is an old bug (or ...it's due to how ABP is working with hiding filters) in ABP for firefox which can't manage always correctly the hiding filters

There's an unblocked ad here and also EasyList prevents the counter from working and eventually letting you continue to the next page.
