Adblock Plus detected on Le Figaro : lefigaro.fr

Starting from today, Le Figaro (one of the largest daily newspapers in France) has implemented the detection of ABP users on its online site, lefigaro.fr : it prevents the on line reading of its articles unless the user disables ABP.

The impact of this new measure seems to differ according to the browser I use :

Firefox :
The text of article is blurred in such a way that it is impossible to read it, and an animated gif image (gif-v5-2.gif) inviting the user to disable his ad blocker is inserted in the middle of the text.

Opera and Chrome :
The text of article is blurred but it is still possible to read it, and an animated gif image (gif-v5-2.gif) inviting the user to disable his ad blocker is inserted in the middle of the text.

Internet Explorer (my version, which is not the latest one) :
The text of article is totally removed and replaced with an animated gif image (gif-v5-2.gif) inviting the user to disable his ad blocker.

Example :
http://www.lefigaro.fr/societes/2016/03 ... urance.php

This is how this page appears, using Firefox (the browser I mostly use) :

Filtering the animated gif image removes it, however, the text remains blurred.

Any help on what to do in order to correct the problem will be most appreciated !

Many thanks !

Your filters succeed in removing the animated gif image and make clear and sharp the text which appeared blurred before.

However, some ads still remain.

For instance, on the following page

http://www.lefigaro.fr/flash-actu/2016/ ... e-paix.php

I have circled in red the 4 ad groups which remain. See the following image : (again, I used Firefox)

Is there any way to remove these ads (some of them are refreshing and subsequently intrusive) ?

I would appreciate if you could help further on this.

Thank you.

Thanks again.

I have added and tested. The new filters remove Ad #3.
However, Ad #1, Ad #2 (appears only after you scroll a little down the page), and Ad #4 seem to remain for me.

Any idea how to remove them ?

Thanks again.
In fact, I am testing on Firefox.

With those latest filters you indicated, Ad #2, Ad #3 and Ad #4 are now removed ! Well done !

Only Ad #1 remains. It's the one on the top, just on the right side of the text on the article. Only the blue colour button is clickable, but the whole ad is annoying, especially because, on longer pages on lefigaro.fr site, this ad is replicated several times as you scroll down, and always on the right side.

If you can tell how to remove this Ad #1, you will have achieved perfection !

Over to you...

anyway, did you install / use EHH ? (element hiding helper) ==> it's a great tool to create your own hiding filters
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addo ... idehelper/

Yes, this is an ad too.
And your filter works fine !
No more ads for all pages on lefigaro.fr for me.
Congrats for being perfect !

In fact, the only page which still causes trouble is the home page itself (lefigaro.fr). It's a very long page and, as one scrolls down, there are still some ads there on the right side of the page, some of them apparently related to a "logc111.xiti.com" web site . But I will look at that tomorrow and see if I can find a solution to remove them based on your advice. Or maybe try EHH... (?)

I have not used EHH. But I will look at it later. Does it help you to create filters for use with ABP ?

Thanks for everything ! :D

EHH was created by the same ABP team and is designed to work together ABP. The new filters will be added in the custom filters section.
