Full Support for Android 6.0?

Post by expressobarista »

Hi, I am an adblock plus user and have tried out the browser as well.

I was wondering if the app, although simple, could have some Material Design support.

Another thing is that on Stock Android, notifications for programs running in the background have their own section available at the bottom. I was wondering if that feature could be added to the main app.

Hey expressobarista!

Thanks for reaching out to us.
I'm not sure it is clear what you mean by Material Design support? Could you give us more details?
Also, regarding your suggestion: you would like to be able to see notifications for programs running in the background at the bottom part of Adblock Browser?
All the best,

Hi Rach!

Here's a blog post regarding material design, with some starting points in its sidebar. https://developer.android.com/design/ma ... index.html

It's basically the new design standard by Google for Android apps that, albeit having flaws, is more visually appealing.

Here's is an example of a barebones app that has Material Design:

Here is a screenshot pertaining to my suggestion. In previous versions of Android, apps that ran in the background, such as Adblock plus, would be placed near the top or so. Now they have a separate section near the bottom, as to make other notifications available to the user.

Notice how there's a line to separate the notifications? (Part of it was blurred out, and I'm sorry about that.) It would be nice if Adblock Plus was grouped down there.

Actually for the notification thing, having it set as low priority in the options would be useful.
