Adblock Plus

Heey,

I get this issue very often so I decided to make an account and hopefully finally get rid of it. For residents of the Netherlands RTLXL.nl is a website to watch missed television programs back for free. I do that a lot, but I don't like the ads when using the website. With ABP the video on the website of RTLXL is buffering a long time and when I fast forward to get rid of it (after 5 mins and it's still not playing) the video plays but I don't have audio. With ABP off the video plays normally but with ads every now and then.

On my Macbook pro at home I can watch RTLXL videos without ads without any problems by using Tampermonkey and uBlock Origin, is there a solution to get it work on my iPhone as well?

@Elf, try using Adblock Browser or alternatively, you can try the beta version of ABP for iOS. This version just went out on TestFlight and is still undergoing testing.

@chichi Adblock browser didn't fix the problem. The page just keeps buffering before the start of the video where it would normally play the ads. It looks like the website just blocks the adblocker to be able to play the video. However, on my Macbook the video just plays without the ads.

@Elf Since it works great on desktop try downloading Firefox Mobile, and install Adblock Plus as an add on there, similar to how you would on desktop. Let us know how this works. In the meantime, we will investigate this further.
