"Adblock Plus has been installed"

When I open Microsoft Edge (Microsoft Edge 42.17134.1.0) it says, "Adblock Plus has been installed" every time I open the browser (not just when it's updated). Any changes I make in preferences are not saved. The AdBlock version is 0.9.11

Hello!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! We apologize for the annoyance. We are aware that some users are having an issue with MS edge first run page opening in a new tab upon relaunch with the message that filters have been removed. Unfortunately due to some Edge limitations, some ABP settings are cleared every time cookies are cleared on your browser.

We are working together with Microsoft to resolve this, please see https://gitlab.com/eyeo/adblockplus/adb ... issues/103 for more details.

In the meantime disabling cookie auto-deletion on Edge is the best workaround. You can stop auto-deletion of cookies by taking the steps below:

1.Open Microsoft Edge
2.Select More (...) to open the menu and click on Settings
3.Uncheck the box next to “cookies and saved website data”

Feel free to reach out to us if you have any other questions.

Yesterday I tried to install AdBlock plus. I could not get it installed and now today it says it has been installed and I need to launch it. Should I click on this? In another page it says to turn it on. Should I click on that?

Sir,
I have the same problem. Your Workaround is not usefull. I am using Adblock because i want a little bit more control about my data. To enable cookies is not a solution. Your "Workarround" is what I will never use.

Are you working on a solution? I like Adblock with Firefox, I would also like to use it with Edge.

Regards,
Markus

problem continues to exist. further, the ad-block does not block the ads or saves the settings. it appears that a registry level update is required, and ad-block may not being installed with admin privileges. I think the install being successful is an error status return, and is not checking the proper return status suitable for edge.

Hassle keeps existing. Similarly, the ad-block does no longer block the commercials or saves the settings. It seems that a registry stage replace is needed, and ad-block might not being mounted with admin privileges. I assume the deploy being a success is an errors status return, and isn't checking the proper return repute suitable for the side.

Today I have started this workarround and uninstalled Adblock for IE in the installed programs.
I have removed the cookies in Edge.
On that moment I still have the logo in edge. After clicking I have also my settings back.
I did a PC restart to check if Adblock is still in operating. And yes it is.
Hopefully this will help others

I HATE Adblock. I can't get it off my computer. I don't understand how to get ride of it. Adblock has ruined my desk top computer. There should be a law against your company. I would like the address of your company and the name of the person responible for this F up.
