Edge being replaced by Chromium-based web browser in Win10

This story from the Windows Central site came out yesterday:
titled "Microsoft is building a Chromium-powered web browser that will replace Edge on Windows 10"

it looks like Microsoft is giving up on its MS Edge browser in favor of making a Chromium-based browser in future releases of Windows 10
I'm not sure if development of Ad-block Plus for Edge will continue as Microsoft plans to phase out Edge
