soo...I just discovered that downdetector has changed their system..the comments section is all but unusable with adblock plus turned on.

"unable to display content due to missing consent" is what I'm presented with..an example url is provided here https://downdetector.com/status/xbox-live/

now do I write an exception filter for this?

Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out to us! Can you let us know which filter lists you are using? The filter list authors may be able to suggest a solution.

Thanks

Hello.

I got this issue with downdetector as well and started to investigate. First I noticed that the issue comes from the easylist file adblock plus comes with by default. It is related to the ad-leaderboard filter.

So I continued searching and searching till I came across the genericblock exception. I created an exception based on it which I present you now

Code: Select all

@@||downdetector.*^$genericblock
That filter covers any of the downdetector's domains (.com, .mx, etc.) since I used a wildcard. This because the domain changes if you select your country. For example, I chosed México which is where I live and the link on the address bar changed to downdetector.mx

I already tested the filter and works 100% Enjoy :)

Now that's odd. It did work for me, unless they changed it again. I'll check on my side.

Edit: It is working fine on my side. Did you copied and pasted the exception on the My Filter List section on the advanced tab? That's where it should be pasted. After that all you have to do is refresh downdetector website.
