how to activate Adblock plus for Youtube

I downloaded Adblock plus app from the Google play store yesterday to watch Youtube videos without ads. But still, Youtube shows ads..what should I do. I just downloaded the app.Is there a specific way to activate the app for Youtube?

To activate Adblock on YouTube follow the steps:
1. Click the AdBlock button in the browser toolbar and go to Options.
2. Select Allow whitelisting of specific YouTube channels On the GENERAL tab
3. Restart your browser.
4. Open a video in a channel you want to allow ads on.
5. Click the AdBlock button again and select Whitelist channel.
