Sync the preferences using chrome.localstorage.sync API

Since Chrome version 20, there's an API for extensions to sync their preferences.

http://developer.chrome.com/trunk/exten ... perty-sync

Would be nice to have at least some of the preferences for Adblock Plus synced between devices.

Syncing settings on Chrome

Google Chrome already has a stable API for storing extension settings that are synced: https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/storage.html (chrome.storage.sync).
What about using so that user doesn't have to setup subscription lists, whitelist, etc, on each new Chrome instance?

Any news on this?

Is there a reason why it has not been implemented so far?

I also wonder why this feature has not been implemented yet?

Top priority :-)

This post is nearly a year old, can't believe it hasn't been touched on...instead we have some useless share feature.

This would be great! I made lots of custom filters and would like them to sync between all my computers.

Really... one year without official answer from the dev team about this? Would be nice to at least have some feedback, even if it was something like "this is not our priority right now, we focus on cross-browser features".

Is it problematic to implement? chrome offers a nice and stable API, I believe.
I had a look at the sourcecode and it looks like you are using the same codebase to obtain the chrome, opera and safari extensions. Is this one of the reasons why this has not been implemented yet? Would be nice to know what's going on, I would be happy to lend a hand if needed, when I have more time.

I believe this is a very useful feature, I'm not sure if there are any other things I would like to have in the chrome adblockplus extension other than this. I'd rather just have this and keep the rest as it is.

and again =)
definitely it would be very convenient feature to sync settings for adblock+ between computers...
can we ask for implementation of this feature?

thanks in advance!

I created a ticket for this feature: https://issues.adblockplus.org/ticket/661. I am new to ABP development; but, I will try to implement this soon since it is a feature I want/need as well.

it is sad to see that we can still be considered a corner case :(

a developer (Sebastian) rejected the request, but said:
But we might implement our own synchronization mechanism that will work cross-browser in the future.

+1 It's anachronistic to have reconfigure adp on all computer one use, most of other extensions already live on the cloud
