Common filter lists/setting for all browsers?
Common filter lists/setting for all browsers?
Considering that in the future ABP for IE and FF (and Chrome?) will include the same functionality (and therefore the same filter lists), shouldn't the filters lists/settings be merged and placed in a single common folder as well, to avoid duplicates and inconsistencies (maybe with an option for browser specific exceptions)?
Re: Common filter lists/setting for all browsers?
They already use the same filter-lists, but I think it will be easier to store the settings browser-by-browser, because if you have two browsers running at once, with separate installations of ABP, and one of them tries to modify a common patterns.ini file, the other one will complain; browsers are very wary of external programs changing their settings or those of their extensions, and relative to one browser, another browser is an "external program."
There's a buzzin' in my brain I really can't explain; I think about it before they make me go to bed.

Makes sense, thanks.
