Just a suggestion.

Since there are some people who are against AdBlock for deleting ads, ergo taking away a little revenue, I have an idea on how AdBock can be even more benefitial.

Code adblock, so that with every ad and pop up it blocks, data is sent to the advertizer to make them think you clicked it. This way, we all still get a nice, clean, non-distracting ad free internet, ensuring we don't get any spyware and backround malware on our computers and phones, and the advertizers and their partners still make money.

Wladimir Palant wrote:As discussed many times before - this isn't going to help anyone. There is no money in ads that nobody sees. Even if the website is paid for views rather than clicks (most are not), advertisers want to achieve something with their advertisements. They aren't stupid, they won't continue paying money for nothing - if they notice that a large proportion of views doesn't result in anything the website will be paid less (or even kicked out of the program entirely, keyword: fraud). In other words: you cannot help your favorite website "for free". Either whitelist it and accept the ads or look for a different way to give it money.

  1. That would be fraud, so it's never going to happen.
  2. That would create a connection to the advertiser's servers, which wouldn't sit well with privacy-conscious users.
  3. If the ads are blocked, then there's nothing to click on.
