abp-defunc.png and abp-whitelisted.png can be OptiPNGed down two bytes each. >.>

Peng, I know. I actually want to optimize them down a few hundred bytes with pngquant - later.

Ok, I tried optimizing the icons, pngquant does it quite successfully - but there is possibly a quality loss. Here are the original icons (on the left) and optimized versions (on the right):

I can't see any difference, does anybody?

There is a very slight (almost unoticeable) difference with most of the icons.

The only one that I can see a noticeable difference is the large (green) whitelist icon. It seems have to exagerrated the "jpeg-ing" around the top.

Outside of that, they look fine.

yes, the only noticeable dif is as rick said. the smallest red icon's border seems slightly thicker, but too imperceptible to worry about.

Oh. pngquant looks cool. But I'm fundamentally against quality loss, even if it's imperceptible.

(Oops. I meant to post this like an hour ago, but got distracted and forgot.)

Another person with way too much time here ...

Brute forced images (taken from the latest release) here. Nothing significant really, only 857 bytes shaved off.

Used PNGOUT (lossless).

Edit
20061027: Updated with new find bar images from today's build (612 bytes shaved).

md5: f19c8e9b025ac3e3191d8bac09456b35

These images were optimised with the intention of them being replacing the less optimised ones currently included. :/

Be patient, as he said in the previous post, Wladimir is going to post a new stye in www.userstyles.org, as he did before for the people who preferred the new icons to the cockroach. You will only have to add the code to your userChrome.css file.

And remember that you can change the icons to whatever different icons you want, as described in the FAQ. I think that very few extension developers offer so many possibilities.
