@Wladimir Maybe you would want to look at the 'weight' of the font you are using for 16 X 16 icon. The font looks like it is 'bold'. Maybe the larger icon using a 'normal' font would scale down to 16 x 16 with crisper edges. The width of the line creating the font would be narrower and produce sharper edges.

efdur, I'll send you the psd files if you give me an email address. As to prefering your own - the icons are not too different, what exactly do you dislike?

Btw, I chose the same font :)

Thanks and welcome back :)

Yes, I already thought about removing the inner line - that should be the right thing to do. However, you shouldn't make the outer line thinner. In the scaled-down version the diagonal parts of the outer line are more visible than the vertical/horizontal parts - bad. Changing the color to something slightly lighter than black (maybe #404040) should be enough.

Making the cross transparent on the font - no, I don't think so. That looks wrong. Also, the nice shadow/reflection effects only look nice on the big versions that aren't going to appear in the interface. You can't recognize them as shadows in 24x24, and even less in 16x16.

The text is somewhat too big, compare with http://images.google.com/images?q=stop+sign. I don't think it should be bigger than the vertical sides of the octagon.

Yes, that's pretty much it, thanks. The only objection - the outer line should be 2px wide on 64x64. Otherwise you can't see it in smaller icons.

The outer line should be wider, it should be 2 pixel in the large (64x64) image.

Yes! Please send me the icons (ideally as PSD files). I would put them into Adblock Plus 0.7.1.2 but I don't think changing icons with a bugfix release is a good thing to do. This will have to wait until 0.7.2, for now I'll update the style on http://userstyles.org/style/show/805.

The new icons really look nice, I think we can stick with them now:

I updated the style on userstyles.org, so if somebody wants to try them in the real user interface - head over here.
