Hello,

this is my 1st post in this forum. Please excuse me if my English is not very good because I am not an English native speaker.

Firefox: 52.2.1 esr
OS: Windows XP SP3 32bit (yes I know... I am in the progress to change to Linux - but until now no problems, XP runs very fine since last Updates from MS in April 2014)
ABP: 2.9.1

Following problem appears when I use an internet site with a "menubar" on the top of the page. This menu bar is fixed at the top of the page. The rest content of the site scrolls up and down and when scrolling down the content disappears below the menubar.

When I deactivate ABP then on the top of the page is an Ad. Overhead the ad I think the website send some blank lines with no content. So the menubar doesn't hide any content of the Ad.

When I activate ABP then the Ad isn't shown. But together with the Ad also the blank lines also not shown. The result is that parts of the content of the site disappears below the fixed menubar same as when I would scroll down but it isn't scrolled down. So I can not see some important content.

I can not set this Ad on the white list because I made my own filter for this website (the standard filter of ABP doesn't hide Ads on this website). The filter I made is: ||finya.de/imgs/U^ In the folder behind the "U" they have many graphic files and the graphics contains the Ads. Every time when I reload the site another graphic with another Ad will be loaded.

As resolution I think maybe could help when APB doesn't block all the content of the blocked Ads but could read the size of the Ad and then show a blank field of the size and at the position of the Ad.

But I am not a software specialist and so I don't know if that would be possible...

Thank you very much.

Best regards

Oliver

You might need a UserStyle that either adds padding to the content-area of this site or changes the style of the floating menu-bar to be fixed at the top of the page; alternatively, try unchecking the option to collapse placeholders of blocked elements.
