Can't contribute without setting up PayPal account

I tried to make a donation to support Adblock Plus, but the donation payment form requires that i set a password to create a PayPal account. This is not acceptable to me, so, no donation.
By comparison, I made a donation for Disconnect, which required only three things (beyond picking a donation amount): credit card number, expiration date, and security code.
Which donation system might better encourage donations?
