I'm trying to upload an avatar, but keep getting this instead.

Avatar could not be uploaded.

Does anyone know why that is?

I think your avatar Pixel and Size is High. So Just try with the size as mentioned

Try a smaller picture size or format

I see you downloaded the butterfly, congratulations on setting the avatar.

This error tells me "The avatar’s filesize must be between 0 and 6 KiB."
I don't know what kind of image to put.

I had the same problem so here's how ti fix it. First choose a picture and upload it to resizeimage.net. Then change the image to 80x80 pixels and then a the last step you can compromise your picture for example by 50% than the file should definitely be less than 6kb. Than it works. If you click on resize you can see how big your new resized image is. Hope I could help.
