Installs without asking

I use codec packs from sharke007. When updating to a new build, without giving me the option to not install, it tries to install the bing bar and does install the ask bar. To me, that makes it malware. Am I correct in calling it that or is it something else?

I would certainly be extremely wary of installing software that bundles other programs by default, but most definitions of "malware" that I have found require an intent to harm a computer, which I would hope is not the case in this instance.
