sup.

So, I restored Firefox to default. First order of business: ADP.

I go to adblockplus.org, and it gives me this wonderful message after I hit the "download" and "allow" buttons.

"This add-on cannot be downloaded because of a connection failure to adblockplus.org"

Nothing else. Just that. So, I went to Firefox add-on area and added it that way. It booted up just fine, and it's on my toolbar: magically, however, it does not work. I'm still getting ads everywhere, especially youtube. WTF? Why can't I download from the site? I scanned for malware via MalwareBytes. Doing the same thing with Avira.

I don't know how to make ADP work again. :c

if you installed it from https://addons.mozilla.org/it/firefox/a ... lock-plus/
it's ok

now, click ABP icon, filter preferences, check your enabled subscriptions
if under the subscription you see "failure" it means the filter list wasn't downloaded

try the alternative:
go to
https://secure.fanboy.co.nz/

in the menu go to easylist(mirror), choose easylist (or other), should work now, do your tests

That mirror seems to have done the trick. I'll have to tell my friend - he never knew he could get rid of YT ads.

Thank you so much. This was weird. I had some spyware/malware that must have been mucking things up somewhere. But so long as I don't have ads, I'm a happy camper. Thank you!
