blocking only the ads I choose.
Is there a way to stop adblock from disabling any adds accept for the adds I chose? I want to use adblock to disable some adds and some stuff that doesn't officially count as an add but I don't want it to block any adds unless I want a specific add to be blocked. I already tried to find a function like this on the normal adblock but couldn't find it and I can't find it on adblock+ either.
Re: Only blocking adds I choose.
use the filter (which whitelists all the domains with some exceptions):
where ~example1.com, ~example2.com and ~subdomain.example3.com are the domains on which you want ABP enabled.
You have to maintain only 1 filter with all the exceptions !
Code: Select all
@@*$document,domain=~example1.com|~example2.com|~subdomain.example3.com

Re: Only blocking adds I choose.
No, this does not work. For instance.
Domain is: http://video.golem.de/
So I added "@@*$document,domain=~video.golem.de" to the list of custom filters.
Nothing gets blocked. I still see any video commercial before the actual video and also every banner ad is shown.
Your advice is incomplete!

Re: Only blocking adds I choose.
if you have easylist germany enabled and still see video ads, report that site at the easylist support forum:
http://forums.lanik.us/viewforum.php?f=90
then after the authors will find the right filter, try again
anyway, I hope you understood that the filter you wrote above whitelists all the sites but blocks the ads on video.golem.de

Re: Only blocking adds I choose.
Again what you write is NOT correct.
The filter you suggest does not do anything at all!
I do NOT want to enable easylist I just want to block this single page.

Re: Only blocking adds I choose.
again you don't understand what I wrote.
The filter above works only using easylist + easygermany in your case.
if you don't want easylist, see first point !
disable all the lists and then find yourself the filters (custom filters) you want for what site you want.
ABP (when you want to block ads on whatever site) works using filters (official lists or custom)
Got it ?!

Re: Only blocking adds I choose.
Most probably you do not get it. You say that if you just want to blacklist one paricular site you should appy
That does NOT work!!!
Got it?

Re: Only blocking adds I choose.
Did you read my first post ?
Can you accept you don't understand what you read ?
again:
you could:
1. install ABP and remove any subscriptions. Then you can block (custom filters) only those ads you want
or (with easylist enabled)
2. use the filter (which whitelists all the domains with some exceptions):
where ~example1.com, ~example2.com and ~subdomain.example3.com are the domains on which you want ABP activated.
